what I want is for the letters to fall away from the song, leaving the underlying message

Working on a text that has an underlying hidden meaning. The text says one thing but say the 13th, 26th and 39th letter of the text spell out a different message.

I need a way for the letter to fall away from the text that reveals this. Ideally, in several ways -- shattering glass, erasing, crumbling, open to many possibilities. Options that could translate onto a stage backdrop are particularly desirable.
