Hi, After careful evaluation, I believe you have the model file with you. However, often times, the CAD model with detail features in part file is critical for the CAD user to make further changes in the particular part. Importing an STL & STEP format would have taken so much time for the software to analyze the surface and very often CAD user is unable to kick start the modeling work and to finish the work within the desired time frame. I think it is necessary to inform the employer the importing of STL & STEP files can be time consuming especially the model with a lot curvature surface in it and not all surface in the model are perfect especially those exported from non-engineering based 3d software. I believe a perfect curvature of the model can be exported perfectly in Solidworks or 3d enigneering based software like Inventor or Pro-E Wild Fire. I am just sharing my work experience and some of my knowledge, hope this is helpful.
