Synopsis: 2000 Miles East will be an hour-long documentary film about the civil war in Eastern Ukraine which starter in 2014 and the psychological impact the conflict left on the people from the region. The film is not a political analysis but a personal journey which we the director and the camera operator were undertaking from London to Donetsk. The documentary will combine a series of visuals from our trip which will be portraying the destruction of the conflict and the hope for new life.
So far we have completed two journeys to the Donetsk People's Republic which is officially in Eastern Ukraine. We have gathered interviews from both Western and Eastern Ukraine and in July 2018, we are planning to travel to Sheffield, as this city is historically linked with Donetsk. We are looking for an offline editor to collaborate with us in putting together this ambitious project. The position will be ideal for someone with documentary experience and interest towards current affairs. Understanding of Russian can be an advantage, but it is not required, as we will be translating and subtitling all of the interviews.

The deadline for completing the project is 1st of September 2018. Therefore the editing will be taking place throughout July and August. Please apply with a examples of previous work and a short explanation of why you would like to take part in this project.
