Design of electric heating system for glass melting furnace

Existing Set-up Glass melting furnace with capacity of 5.50 TPD for manufacture of glass marbles with 100 % cullet. Furnace dimension is 3 X 1.5 M Glass Depth 0.55 M Weir wall 400 mm High with distributor 1.5 M X 0.5 M with glass depth of 150 mm. 3 Numbers forehearths from end of distributor typically 500 to 800 mm length till orifice point. Glass depth in forehearths typically 150 mm. Pull on forehearths between 1.5 to 2.5 TPD. Entire furnace, distributor and forehearths are all heated by one single Furnace Oil burner approx 1200 liters per day. To maintain the glass temperature at orifice point at the lowest forehearth temperature the oil burner is adjusted. This has the downside that even if melting is good, even if gob temperature in 2 forehearths is good the oil has to be increased to maintain the forehearth gob temperature where temperature is lowest. What is needed: One solution for the above problem appears to be electric heating in the forehearths for fine temperature control of the glass. Rough calculations indicate that 2 electrodes on each forehearth inserted from the sides on opposite walls with an offset of 100 mm could possibly meet our requirement. Expert advice regarding precise placement of the electrodes and design / supply of water cooled electrodes is required. Design and supply of Transformers for control of the power input into the electrodes along with safety requirements is needed.
