Science Fiction Epic (Book 1)

I am putting a team together to write the next big series to rival the likes of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc. Picture humanity. We struggle but we persevere. It's what we do. I want a story that will show humanity at its darkest and its most triumphant. I want to bring humanity to its knees and see if it can recover. This epic will span from present day until *spoiler* extinction. Most of us are creative types and screenwriters. None of us have experience writing a novel let alone a series of novels. I need someone who could take our skeleton of a story and flesh it out to the fullest extent. It won't be an easy task, but I can promise it will be your greatest. For now let's start with book 1 and work from there.
