Help me set up Version Control in these applications and teach me basics of Git usage.

Help me set-up Git, Version Control and teach me basics on how to use it. I need you to help me set up following: - I'll give you couple links to applications that supposedly have Version Support with support for massive binary data-sets. Otherwise I'd like you to look such an application up. - I'll need you to help me set this application up and get it working (with a set of commands) - I'll create, delete, move and edit files. Test it a little bit. - Then there has to be a visual representation of what I have just done. So I can literally browse previous versions. The final destination: - I'll know how to set-up Version Control (binary-level) of an entire directory. - I'll know how to make program submit entire directory as well as individual files. - I'll know how to set up these repositories in Windows and Linux (same process I suppose?). - I'll have an application to preview all versions in Version Control (the way I can see added/removed bytes on [login to view URL]).
