Shopify is a pretty large site but luckily for you there are allot of ready to go solutions and open source you can use that greatly speed up the process and save you money in the long run. You will need a team for something like this a small team nothing crazy but its not a one man job (if you want it done properly) We have been in business for 7 years now and are pretty well in tune on how to develop such sites.
