Mastodon Theme Twitter Front End

Project: Mastodon TRILLION Theme - Twitter interface theme for Mastodon.

We need a custom theme for Mastodon, an open source distributed social network written in Ruby on Rails and React.js.

Standard Mastodon theme is four column "TweetDeck" design. We need a Twitter-like theme (single column, tabbed, etc).

Mastodon already supports themes.

Halcyon (available on GitHub) is a Mastodon front end written in PHP, no database needed, which does provide exactly the look we want (Twitter clone).

But Halcyon integration with Mastodon is not seamless (two step login), and it requires Mastodon to be installed in a subdomain.

We need the Halcyon look (ie. Twitter look, single column interface), but natively incorporated into a Mastodon theme.

Mastodon layouts are controlled by HAML files. You will need to change these to effect the necessary layout changes.

The name of the theme will be - TRILLION

Trillion must be installed as the DEFAULT theme.

Cautions:

How to handle Mastodon updates? Your theme should not get deleted when Mastodon is updated.

Mastodon supports themes, BUT they might be only COLOR themes, not LAYOUT themes. Of course our theme will affect the LAYOUT since we need single column theme. This will need investigation.

Approvals:

We will access your test server by web interface for evaluation. If it looks like Halcyon, it will be approved.

Deliverables:

Source code files.

Basic instructions on how to install on production server.
