Ionic Creator with Firebase - $save and $remove not working

I have a test app created in Ionic Creator The app is linked up to a Firebase database and I can list some database objects/records. I have written some code to save/update a record and to also delete/remove a record. The $save and $remove functions run without error but nothing changes in the Firebase database. $add works perfectly I have checked the Firebase rules and both read and write are set to true. I need to be able to set an icon image of a list item based on the record's true/false value. <ion-item class="item-icon-left" ng-repeat="item in items" ng-click="setCompleted({{item}})"> <i class="icon ion-ionic"></i>{{[login to view URL]}} </ion-item> We can look at this over Skype or GoToMeeting or I could give you access to my Ionic Creator account.
