I almost died last night - again. Why? Overdose of insulin. Not because I am stupid or incapable. I have a Dexcom monitor which I use 24x7x365. When my blood sugar is too high, I need to take an injection of short term insulin. If the blood sugar does not come down, I need to take another injection. If I don't remember when I took the last injection, or how much I took, my blood sugar can fall rapidly, and cause me to pass out and theoretically die (i came close last night)
i have been looking for years for a SIMPLE app to help me monitor my short term insulin use - period - NO OTHER FUNCTIONALITY. i am trying to find a developer who will build this app for me. Here is what the app needs to do - especially for people who do not see well without glasses (like in bed at night)
- IN FRONT OF THE HOME SCREEN - i need a single button to push to get to the app - one that stays on the screen. NO PASSWORDS OR OTHER SECURITY PROTECTIONS - I am in far more danger of an insulin overdose than any hacking issue.
-` the app needs to accept a numerical input of 1-10, representing the amount of insulin injected in cc's - preferably from a pick list (touch the choice - NOT move the cursor to the selection and then touch a "select" button) - the choices should be in big numbers and different colors. along with the user input, the app needs to automatically record the current time -
- above the input area needs to be the LAST THREE INJECTIONS - the only display needs to be hrs:mins of each injection before the current time, and the number of cc's in each injection. once the current injection has been entered, the list of the last three injections needs to be updated to include the most recent.
- pushing the button to start the app displays the list of the last three injections, and the pick list for the next injection - a "cancel" button will return the app to the home screen without entering an injection.
there are all kinds of opportunities to add functionality to this app - PLEASE - NOT FOR ME. this needs to be something with a button i can push in the middle of the night, determine the amount and time of my last three injections, and based on my current blood sugar reading and direction from my Dexcom monitor, also on my iPhone, make and record another injection - PERIOD.
I am willing to pay all development costs and give the developer all rights to sell it. I JUST WANT IT FOR ME.
