Background: We are a group of Chartered accountants serving SMEs, predominantly in the textile business. Every year we receive the accounting data from our clients in the form of Tally data files and our staff spend a lot of effort in manually porting the numbers from the client's files, to the application that we use to generate audit reports. This is due to the inherent incompatibilities / differences between how the clients maintain books and how the IT department expects the data to be represented. The project under consideration would transform the non-standard data to conform to the standard representation (with inputs fed by the user) and produce the statements that would be submitted to the IT department. The application is currently under development and we weed an additional hand in developing the balance sheet and Profit and Loss statements in the form of reports. The candidate should be proficient in .NET development and should be able to select a suitable open source reporting tool based on the requirements.
