We have investigated the many methods of scripting NTFS permission changes and have come very close to a solution but nothing that works 100% how we would like. We have tried [login to view URL] which works good but only runs at the command prompt, [login to view URL], and a script written by an author at Winnetmag.com. The problem is that each item that did work over the web did not complete the job how we need it to. The only tool that did it correctly was xcacls.vbs.
What we are looking for:
1. A tool we can use over the web (preferably written in ASP) or at least accessable with an ASP script. IIS permissions are not an issue as we can set this to something custom.
2. Must be able to add NTFS permissions for accounts on the server. We will need it to be able to add permissions for multiple accounts such as IUSR_servername and ASPNET. It does not have to do them at once, just that it will support adding as many accounts as we choose.
3. Must support the ability to add FULL permissions, this is the only permission we need.
4. When viewing permissions that have been added by this script using windows explorer the permissions should appear correct and not come up with any errors. It should look as if we made the permissions using windows explorer.
5. The program should be able to take multiple parameters such as folder name, account name, permission level, and return back to the webpage some sort of status message.
In your bid please include detailed information on how you will solve this problem, languages to be used, and information on implementation.
