I am looking to recruit a team of freelance 3D game specialists, to write the technical content for a series of 300+ articles about specific aspects of creating 3D computer games. I am NOT looking for someone to produce all 300+ articles. I am looking for people who have the skills and want to focus upon the areas they are best suited to. Each article will be highly focussed in terms of content and scope. I will provide the specific article titles, topics, content requirements etc as individual projects for bid here. As the game engine these articles are designed for is developing on an ongoing basis, there will be need for these articles to be updated every 12 to 18 months or so. Each updating will be placed here as an open bid (with preference given to the initial author). Although I am buying all copyright rights to the articles, I plan to pay each author 50% commission on every copy of an article they helped produce when sold through my website - this 50% commission is in place for the duration of the commercial life of the article. This commission aspect is subject to RentACoders response to my request to make this commission offer. If RentACoder turn my request down, then I will have to withdraw the offer and simply pay for the work as before. Hopefully they will respond in a posistive manner but I will respect their decision - whatever it is. I am not looking for visually attractive, finished articles. I need clearly explained, almost idiot guide technical explanations. I will be turning the raw articles into professionally layed out, written, edited articles. I will be handling all of the marketing, secure distribution and e-comerce sales, etc of the articles directly to their intended market of 50,000+ If you are interested in this, please respond here. I appreciate you cannot bid on unspecified projects. Each actual article will be specified seperately on this site.
Coders: I will supply a fully functional demo version of the game engine, the scripting reference manuals and any other reference manuals required for each individual project. The scripting language is a simplified version of C and should be very easy for C coders to pick up. 1. Comprehensively commented source code with a detailed description of all code functionality. The articles are intended for game coders who are at intermediate level. 2. A working executable that demonstrates the code in action. Any game resources (models, textures, level objects, etc) required for the code and demo need be functional only, can be supplied by me or included by yourself - this will be made clear on each specific project specification. Level Designers: I will supply the level editor and model editor. You will need to use your own additional tools if you need them - specific tools required by any specific project will be supplied by me. I am refering to levels but in actuality, each article will focus upon specific aspects of level building. 1. A clearly documented step-by-step description of how the example 'level' was built using the specified tools. 2. A working 'level' that demonstrates the content of the article. Model Makers and Animators: I will supply the required tools and descriptions of the models and/or animations required. Some models will require animation, some will not. Each article will focus on one small scale model. The need for basic texture maps reflects the fact that the focus is on the modelmaking and or animation process - rather than the art of texturing. 1. The finished model (including basic texture maps). 2. A clearly documented step-by-step description of how the example model and/or animation was created using the specified tools. Texture Artists: I will supply the models and/or level objects to be mapped, plus the game engine, model and level editor. Your task is to texture map the supplied models/objects. 1. Texture mapped models and/or objects. 2. A clearly documented step-by-step description of how the example model/object texture map/s were created using the specified tools. ------------------------------------------------- If you need anything clarifying then please include it in your 'bid' I am looking for a rough idea of your fee and some examples of your work.
The supplied game design system handles compatibility with windows editions. Written documentation is required in wordpad format and any supporting illustrations, screen captures, etc need to be in gif or jpg (as appropriate).
