[login to view URL] is an online dating site. Our current Flash based chat client has some technical limitations so we want to offer our members the option of installing a downloadable chat client similar to ICQ/AIM/MSN Messanger. Development of the chat client will take place in three steps: 1. Initial Deployment - Recreate our flash client in C++ (or similar language) including modifications for a desktop, as opposed to website, environment. 2. Multimedia Support - Add support for audio/video conferencing. 3. Client based searcing/matching - Build much of the functionality of the Mate1 website into the chat client. Currently we are looking for bids for the first step only. Ideally we would like to use one developer for all three steps but each step will be contracted seperately. The client/server communcation protocol as well as preliminary graphics are available in the attached zip file. Graphics layout may change, but functionality will not.

We have included the attachment that should have been included when we initially posted the bid request.
Included is the protocol spec, as well as some sample images of what we would prefer it to look like.
## Platform
Must run on Windows XP. The ability to run on other operating systems would be an obvious plus. Code should be portable to other operating systems (no Visual Basic) and run without the need for third party engines (no Java).
