SQLite + BCB 6.0 Simple database example.
Overview. SQLite is a powerful multi-platform database and open source must be compliled to a library to function with the software development platform. I have not been able to complile SQLite to function with BCB 6. The command line [login to view URL] is probably what should be used.
Requirements:
1) Compile SQLite ([login to view URL]) source code to a .lib file.
2) Create Borland C++ Builder 6.0 project
3) Button1Click should use SQLlite SQL statements to create a database with 2 tables named "Names" and "Positions".
4) Button2Click should use SQL statements to insert sample data (below) into the 2 tables.
5) Button3Click should execute a SQL "select" statement (below) and save results into third table (on disk).
6) Button4Click should open third table and save the contents to a .txt file.
7) Button5Click should show the .txt file in Windows Notepad.
Table "Names" Fields:
- FirstName (text 25 chars)
- Level (integer)
Table "Positions" Fields:
- Level (integer)
- Title (text 25 chars)
Table "Names" Data:
Fred, 1
Joe, 1
Betty, 2
Jill, 2
Sam, 3
Pete, 3
Table Positions Data:
1, Employee
2, Supervisor
3, Manager
Approximate SQL statement:
"Select * from Names and Positions where Level = 1"
Approximate output in .txt file:
Fred, Employee
Joe, Employee
