Price comparison site by PHP scraping(repost)

Create a price comparison website that displays product and price data from four online stores. These stores do not provide xml feeds so the data must be fetched with php scraping or similar technique. Coder will get a website template that can be used in the site. ## Deliverables More details: The site will display printer ink cartridge prices from the stores. Each printer model will have its own page that will display product data, additional data, price, shipping price, total price, online store name and link to their printer model page or product page. The list will be a html table sorted by total price. Because online stores name their products in a different way (varying brands or sizes) there is no need to do an actual price comparison: just list all products that are available for each printer model and sort them by price. Price data can be fetched once a week and stored to our server (mysql). Scraping process should not put too much load on the online store servers. Coder will build a complete site. He will be given a website template to help with the graphics and design. Main page contains: - welcome text (a few paragraphs written by the admin) - price data examples (~5 cheapest products) for four pre-selected printer models. - search form that will search printer models or products - Links to printer makers (Canon, Espon, HP, Lexmark etc...) Printer maker pages: - Each printer maker page lists all their printer models in a similar way as in the online stores. Printer model pages: - Lists product information in a nice looking html or css table. - Navigation links that take you back to a printer maker page or home page. Search function: - A user usually enters their printer model as a keyword. The search function will search the database to find all products compatible with the given printer model. The search function should take into account most common alternative spellings such as "Canon MP150" and "Canon MP-150". If the keyword is not specific enough (like "Canon Pixma") it will display a list of related printer models where a user can then click to select their model (leading them to a normal printer model page). Admin functins: - option to temporarily disable any of the four online stores so that their data is not scraped or displayed on the site - option to select what price examples are displayed on the main page (admin will list four printer model names) Other requirements: - SEO friendly urls and meta tags - All text on site should be easily translatable to another language. - Coder must be prepared to make changes or add new small features during the project because many things are noticed and new ideas arise only after the first parts of the project are done.
