**URGENT** Edit PHP to sendmail_from a shared host in .htaccess

I have a Adobe Muse website hosted on a Linux server with PHP mail form. The problem is that the form collects data but it does not reach the intended email account. The hosting server does not have PHP set correctly. I get the error "Mail configuration: PHP mail() configured incorrectly on server. Form will not be able to send email." I would like this corrected such that the PHP form on the server sends mail out to the intended email.
