WordPress Theme Customization

We have a custom WordPress theme/child theme for our desktop and mobile visitors that was developed primarily for speed and functionality. While functional, we need to improve the appearance of the theme including button design, font choices, color scheme and layout before we launch. This is a good project for a developer with a designers eye meaning someone not just adept at efficiently producing good code, but also someone aware of subtle UI elements. The existing design is not graphics heavy so a talented front-end developer with UI experience should be able to update the site without design skills however you should have experience with modern minimal flat designs like udemy.com. Qualified candidates will have examples of similar work that we can review. We will provide you with annotated screenshots, specifications, and examples for inspiration. We envision the following steps will be involved in this project: Audit existing HTML, CSS, JS, SEO structure (Theme only has 5 page templates) Provide suggestions on how to improve the UI (we have annotated screenshots but expect input from you) Implement UI changes Follow launch checklist and migrate site to production Responsibilities & Qualifications we are seeking: -Custom WordPress Configurations -Advanced understanding of UI and UX best practices & standards -Advanced understanding of responsive web development -Version control systems e.g, git -Experience with cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing -Familiarity with Bootstrap -Experience with Advanced Custom Fields -Page speed optimization -PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (VUE.js) and jquery -Html & CSS design -Photoshop -SEO theme design best practices You must have strong communication and organization skills along with the ability to work independently while hitting agreed upon deadlines. Strong English skills are a must. We are looking for someone with an ownership mentality that asks clarifying questions, provides suggestions and goes above and beyond checking off a task list. We will be working in Slack and Trello, so you should have experience using these collaboration tools. Once the site redesign is launched, there will be additional ongoing work available.
