Find and Assist with Implementing the Appropriate Version Control System

OBJECTIVE: I have 16 files with 5 different file extensions in 3 folders and 1 subfolder that need to be monitored. I need version control in place so that I can monitor these file changes, and get feedback from the developer regarding the purpose of the changes made. POTENTIAL SOLUTION: Using GIT with Bitbucket and Sourcetree have been suggested as a possible mainstream solution to the problem below, but I need your expertise in deciding whether it is or not, and then configuring it to meet the objective. I need someone with voice capability to assist me in setting up a solution capable of meeting the objective via screen sharing with audio. Note that good verbal communication is the number one priority. I can pay $10 for helping me find and set up the correct solution that meets the overall objective.
