Customising osCommerce to meet the demands of a digital printing company where prices change based on volume, paper type, finishing and other options.

## Deliverables

We are a digital printing company looking to develop an ecommerce website. We have started using osCommerce and now want to explore customisation options to bring it more in line with our customer requirements.

We stock approximately 50 products.

The website will have the following Core Modules

Customer profile and login. - Users can create a profile for future login.

Print Size & Spec table

We would like a 'compare prices' table similar to that found on [url removed, login to view] for each product we stock. Selecting the different quantities changes the shopping cart price. This table should be content managed and allow for batch updates as well as special discount prices. iN addition to the table we will have drop down options for type of finishing, paper type and others which will also change the shopping cart price.

We need a web 2.0 style template designed for the website. [url removed, login to view] in particular and [url removed, login to view] provide good examples of the standard we are looking for.

The template design should incorporate a clear icon pack to explain and simplify the online order process as well as approx. 10 banners for key features and special offers.

Personal Customisation Module: We need a module to allow personal printing design using predefined templates. Users can choose a template or work with a blank background and manipulate it by entering text, choosing form different fonts/bold/italic/underline, page aspect and layout of text on the page.

Business Cards

Leaflets

Letterheads

Compliment Slips

canvas prints

Birthday Cards

Photo Books

Once the user has previewed their design they can submit it and it needs to produce a PDF to be set to our print queue email.

An Upsell Module: A module that allows us to preconfigure recommended upsells/crosss sells and down sells based on users purchases in the form of popovers.

A promotion module: should include a newsletter management tool (Similar to aweber, get response) linked to customer data to send promotional emailers to based on purchase history. The ability to manage banners and serve different banners to different users based on their browsing/payment history.

We want to work with a partner that has extensive experience customising osCommerce with plugins, temnplates and addons or can offer a viable alternative. Experience in the print industry is a definite advantage. If you have an alternative cost effective solution using a different open source platform we will be able to manage moving forwards, we are open to discuss this.
