I'd like to take milestones like that :
My work will be in 3 Day and
Depending on the paper (may be less)

The project file will consist of :
1- gazebo files : hold the simulation environment and the robot simbody (actuators,sensors,body,...,etc)
2- rviz files : contain the properties of sensors need to to be shown
3- control files : contain launch files that construct ROS nodes and topics to talk to each others
4- script files : contain code in (Python) .. handling all types of functions like (observing , controlling , and you can add or edit it with more than these funcs. [navigation, CNN,...etc ] )
** The files will be easy to understand with some tips&tricks comments) **
5- .SH files to run automatic commands without need to go deeply in scripts and launch files
6- Nodes&Topics ROS flow (PDF)
7- Frames of Robot (PDF)
