# Overview
Your work will focus on enhancing our app’s lessons library where clients watch video lessons on how to get their kid to sleep better. This is similar to the Apple TV or Netflix app to browse different categories, continue watching, recently watched, and search. We’ve already implemented and clients already use the lessons library, but we need to make enhancements in order to give our clients a better experience. You’ll be implementing a way for them to take notes, autoplay the next lesson, pick up watching lessons they haven’t finished, and bookmark lessons.
# Our tech stack
We’ve built an app in React Native and deployed it to Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store. We use Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Cloud Functions to implement custom backend functionality and GCP Firebase Firestore to provide a document store for user information. All code is written in TypeScript, unit and component tests are written in Jest, our code is housed in Gitlab, stories are managed in Pivotal Tracker, designs are provided via Adobe XD, and our build pipeline runs on Bitrise. We hold virtual meetings via Google Meet if necessary.
# Expectations and development responsibility
You will be responsible for implementing updates and new components to the UI. Additional database models will be provided along with sample code for interacting with Firebase Firestore.
Here are screenshots of the current state of our app and screenshots of the designs. They should be used for estimates only. We will select a few contractors to provide detailed estimates with access to our design files after the initial bidding period.
