Hi, I'm Muna. I'm native Indonesia, born at 1980. My father was an Arabic teacher (also a headmaster) and really care about how we use language in everyday life. My mother's language was Javanese. But I was born and lived in a Chinese neighborhood, which speak mostly Bahasa Indonesia. I believe that this background had shaped my interest on language, later on English, when I grew up. Since I was a kid, I watch English speaking television series, then started to read English novel at high school. At 1999 I began to study at Communication Studies Gadjah Mada University, and worked for an NGO (grassroot) as project based staff. It was a Farmer Union, founded on 1998. I worked for them until 2018, resigned from my position as Project Manager to get married. Now it become one of the largest Farmer Union in Indonesia. Then I became Indonesian and English teacher at Junior High School, founded an animation studio with my husband, then work as local manager for an export furniture manufacturer. All of my career involved Indonesian - English and vice versa practices. I learn the arts of writing: news writing, to literature writing, language syntax, and applied them in different context. I was so grateful for being able bridging meaning interchange between communities. As I learn the Indonesian syntax more, I hold so dear the believe that Bahasa Indonesian is true lingua franca (spoken language). I wish this means something for your project. Thanks.
