OK, I run a Linode cloud server with my ecommerce sites on.
I administer it myself normally, but I have made a mistake today during work and have accidentally deleted the /var/ folder when I intended to delete the /var/www/somefolder (rm -rf...) **bad I know**
I NEED to save todays work from the server if possible, I have a backup as a [login to view URL] file which I can access on there using Linode emergency console (I cannot ssh normally to the server)
Anyway, I have a Linode Cloud backup for this server which is from 24 hours ago, but if I use this I lose today's work which is not ideal.
From the 'bad' server I can ssh to another server, I want to transfer the file elsewhere, restore my backup and reinstall the [login to view URL] file.
So need someone who is very skilled in Unix, with Linode experience who can work with me on this.
Hi, i currently work in a datacenter as a linux servers administrator, so i believe my skills are quite enough to solve your problem. any kind of webhosting work is my daily routine, so i'm ready to start right after you will reply to me.
I had a positive reviewed projects on linode, so i think we can try to recover your OS. Can i ask what do you mean under "save todays work"? where are your working files? there were in /var/xxx ?
Hello, I have read the full description and I understand the job. I have an experience with linode and I consider myself a decent linux system administrator. Let's discuss further the job and I'm ready to start
