1. SPECIFICATION FOR WEBSITE:
Ms. Quinn's Classroom
2. OVERVIEW OF WEBSITE REQUIREMENTS
- Must be built as a wordpress template.
- Must be built using a current existing wordpress template (specified below), and modified to fit the requirements.
- Must have cross-browser compatibility (Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari, Opera).
- Must validate to W3C specifications.
3. STYLE AND LAYOUT
This is an education themed website. Please do not include images of people (students or teachers) in the design. Instead, use other education themed graphics, such as chalkboards, books, etc.
This is not a theme built from scratch. Instead, use one of the two themes provided below and make modifications to it to fit the requirements specified:
1. [login to view URL]
2. [login to view URL]
If you use the first theme, remove the tree graphic and replace it with something education based, such as a chalkboard.
When designing the theme, please remove the calendar if it is in the sidebar column by default. The only items that should be in the sidebar is the navigation (the list of pages) and the searchbox. Include a fake "Login" area, which has a text entry box for username and password, but does not work. Anything that is entered into this box should give an error: "Incorrect username and password".
Common page elements:
- Header: The header should be something that fits the education theme. A chalkboard or something else scholarly would be best to use as a logo. Make sure to include the name of the website: Ms. Quinn's Classroom.
- Navigation: Navigation will include links to 5 pages,"Assignments", "Classroom Policies", "Classroom Policies", "Resources", "Calendar" and "Drama Club". A link back to the home page should be supplied as well. It should be obvious which page the user is on in the navigation.
- Footer: A typical footer should be included. If you use any creative commons images that need credit, this credit can be included in the footer.
Image content supplied:
Feel free to include images as it fits the layout and theme. You may also include images as you feel appropriate throughout the site. When choosing images, be sure to use images with the appropriate permissions/copyrights, such as Creative Commons for from a stock image website. Any credit needed for images can be placed in the footer. Do not include pictures of people or students in this design. Instead, use scholarly, professional graphics that are education themed.
Text content supplied:
The content that will be on the pages of this website is not yet available. For the purposes of designing and building this website, please use basic dummy text where the content should be (“Lorem ipsum dolor...” etcetera). Please style the text to show common styles (bold, italic, lists, headings, blockquote, etc.)
4. LIST OF PAGES
Site has 5 pages, plus the homepage:
- Homepage: The homepage should show the 4 most recent blog entries.
- Assignments
