Depending on what 802.x your using, which then I would depend on distance and how many devices are taking away from it. Do you have load balancers. It would depend on your network topology. I have extensive experience troubleshooting login issues over multiple versions of windows, from NT4 and Windows 95 through to Windows 10/Server 2016.
