Software Developer

I am a college student studying computer engineering, and have 2 years of experience in software development for embedded systems. I have robotics experience, working with everything from hobbyist Arduinos and Raspberry Pis to industrial robot arms. I have built a 5-axis articulated robot arm from VEX components, programmed a Universal Robot robotic arm to solve the Towers of Hanoi puzzle and wrote a C# API to communicate with a Universal Robot. I would be happy to work with you in implementing a robotic application, Arduino embedded program or task automation.

A 5-axis articulated robot arm that I designed, built and programmed in two months during my senior year of high school in 2015.

In addition to building it, I also documented my efforts during every step of the project. The document includes my initial research, a detailed build log and an in-depth insight into every aspect of the robot. Note that this robot is slightly different from what is described in the document. It has been improved to increase the stiffness in the shoulder joint, reducing vibration and shaking and improving handling.

5-Axis VEX Robotics Robot Arm

This is the Tower Of Hanoi puzzle solved recursively by a Universal Robots UR5, running URScript, which is syntactically similar to Python but lacks many features such as being able to change the size of a list and lacking many built-in functions. This extra layer of challenge meant that I had to devise solutions to work around these inabilities, usually by making my own rudimentary functions.

As the video shows, the program always begins with the robot finding the size and location of each disk. When the search function is complete, the program runs the Tower Of Hanoi in the background, comparing the position of the disks to what was found by the robot. Once the data matches up, the robot arm begins to move according to the recursive algorithm and continues solving the puzzle.

This project was done during my time at Positronics, and the video was taken at their office in Pleasanton.

I have lead several club projects such as designing, building and programming an Ardunio-controlled automated fish feeder and electric skateboard. As President of Engineering Club, I have taken club attendance from a peak of seven members to twenty through working with LPC staff to get the club promoted. I am currently leading the club through a period of rapid growth and managing several project teams.

Used ROS (Robot Operating System) running on Linux to program a Turtlebot to be controlled by a joystick, was used in the CableLabs commercial 'A Near Future. A Better Place.' Stayed in regular contact with the client during the duration of the contract to provide updates on progress. Controlled the robot which was dressed up as a prop for a commercial film. Provided on-site support and troubleshooting of the robot during filming.

Fully developed a C# API that can communicate with the Universal Robots, receiving and parsing data as well as sending commands to the robot. Also created a Windows Forms GUI to demonstrate the functionality of the API. Provided ROS (Robot Operating System) integration with the company's Universal Robot articulated arms. Drew schematics for an industrial electrical setup. Fabricated and wired electronics hardware for industrial purposes based off of provided schematics.
