Sealing a contest gives unethical contestants the opportunity to submit designs copied from sources outside this contest without being exposed by the other entrants because they can't see them. Several times every week I see a winner named only for the contest holder to then find he can't use the design because it's plagiarized. Since the other entrants now can't do it for you, be sure you do!

TO BE CLEAR: I sealed in response to what appeared to be a consensus in a community I've not had much experience with. Truth be told, both sides have good points. But in the end, I agree with your position - let someone steal in plain site. My FreeLancer "assistant" should have been prepared to advise on this but I suspect they do not because they want the $30. Not O.K. Thank You!

At this time we have the best of the best still active. I have matched all star ratings so my team may review the entries and select their favorites without being influenced by the star ratings.

I will eliminated most of the entries base on my teams ratings by 9:00 AM Central, USA on Saturday (tomorrow).

I will do the same thing Sunday to narrow the field down to six or less entries by 9:00 AM.

NEW “ORIGINAL” ENTRIES ARE STILL WELCOME AND DESIRED until the winner has been chosen. We will make final selection of the winning entry just before the contest closes on Sunday morning at approximately 7:30 AM CT, USA.

I will provide little or no general direction as to how to submit your entries going forward as I believe it has all been stated clearly below.

That's sadly true in fact. Over the last few days I have actually come across several contests wherein the design had been sealed only to be revealed later as an exact copy. So be careful - thanks...

  A lot of people follow the top crowd, which may be what you what - perfecting what you like. However, by sealing the contest only you see the entires and that creates a much wider field of work. You can respond individually to all designers as before - nothing else changes.

so much copy cat logos here . .and by the way do not be fooled my mock up logos . .mock up is good looking, but in reality . .you will receive a plain design in the end . .just saying . . good luck all copycats . .

  I do appreciate what you are saying and I have looked far and wide for a talented artist who will provide the "right" logo for us. I am hoping I find him or her here. That being said, I bring your attention to this line in the document you linked "a company gives to the market an anonymous image of itself, devoid of any of the companies identity." Being that my logo consists of our company name in its entirety, there is little chance that we will be indistinguishable from another. Still, I am looking for the one DIFFERENT design and will leave this contest open through the end in the hopes that we find it. Thank you so much...all of you. Sincerely, Tom
