Goal:
To create an advertising brochure that highlights our company’s forte into renting propane heaters for the construction industry.
Target Customers:
Construction management companies in southwest Montana.
Background:
For decades, the construction industry begrudgingly employed diesel heaters to keep their contractors warm, productive, and safe. Due to the temperament and demands that accompany diesel fuel heaters, large construction management companies are demanding a move towards heaters that are powered by propane/natural gas. However, the equipment rental industry is slow to react, due to the massive amounts of diesel heater inventory throughout the equipment rental sector. As a start-up we purchased 20 propane heaters, and we need help “spreading the word”
Features and Benefits:
The problems surrounding diesel heaters are numerous: 1) set-up of the fuel stations, including spill containment, is the responsibility of the construction management company; 2) during winter months the diesel fuel will gel—preventing flow—and the heaters will fail to ignite; 3) refueling is VERY labor intensive and the responsibility of the construction management company. Often heater fuel levels will have to be checked during weekends and holidays—even when the job site is closed; and 4) diesel heater repairs technicians are EXTREMELY expensive diesel mechanics.
The advantages of propane are: 1) the propane supplier will set up a fuel tank and monitor consumption rates (using telemetric features)—scheduling refueling when necessary and eliminating fuel outages; 2) propane is ~38% cheaper than diesel; 4) propane construction heaters can easily be adjusted away from propane, allowing it to accept natural gas—another HUGE cost savings; and 5) by using propane/natural gas heaters the number of qualified technicians (that can repair the heaters) increases exponentially, because propane heaters employ the EXACT same technology as household heaters.
