I have got a design based on one of the images you supplied. I have kept it minimal and just put the name of the tournament on the design. I have done this so the shirt is more likely to be worn in general and not just for the event. I can supply you any file type you need, the site asks for a .jpg as it is much smaller for a preview and means peoples work isn't stolen as much. Any feedback is welcome.

Wow!!! Really, really nice. This is the direction we were headed towards. I love it :-) Per my notes: I would want it in vector based file like Illustrator so it can be printed in high def / high quality. I don't know how to change the contest to remove .jpg, .gif as desired format. This looks really great!
