Sudoku game engine

Sudoku is a placement puzzle, also known as Number Place in the United States. The aim of the puzzle is to enter a numeral from 1 through 9 in each cell of a grid, most frequently a 9?-9 grid made up of 3?-3 subgrids (called "regions"), starting with various numerals given in some cells (the "givens"). Each row, column and region must contain only one instance of each numeral. Its grid layout is reminiscent of other newspaper puzzles like crosswords and chess problems.

The goal is to create one Sudoku game engine with interface(s) that will be implemented and used for several different applications, brifely listed below:

1) Online Game

2) Daily Sudoku e-mail/syndication

3) Sudoku Books with many Sudokus and their solutions

4) Downloadable Sudoku Game to play offline

5) Online Sudoku Solver

6) Downloadable Sudoku Solver to use offline

7) Generate a new Sudoku and print it to paper, get solutions separately

***Limitations***

A successful bid and project must not necessarily include

implementations of all of the applications, but the game engine must allow later implementations.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

Must work in 5+ versions of IE and the latest Firefox, may use flash, shockwave or java.
