This project is to write a VB6 program, to be called EXTFX, that can be executed from the command line which will extract strings from an XM file in XtabML dialect. The dialect is defined at [[url removed, login to view]][1]. Input is an XtabML file and the output is plain text file that lists the words and phrases in the input file. The output list should not include tags, just the texts. The calling sequence from the command line can be:
EXTFX <Path and input file name>, <Path and output file name>, <Log file name>
This is project involves:
Studying and understanding the XtabML dialect and identifying tags which done text
Writing the VB6 program to parse XtabML files and output texts that are found
Test EXTFX on the three specimen files that are in the attachment.
Some further information is included in the attachment which also includes some example XtabML file.
