1. Download the ‘[login to view URL]’ compressed folder from the course website and extract it

to a folder of your choice.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to point python’s ‘working directory’ to right folder so keep track of where you extract it, or move the images to where you need them.

2. Select one of the 9 labeled folders inside the extracted directory to work on.

You can pick any set of images you like but you’ll need both files to complete the task. Both images are virtually identical, they come from a “spot the difference game” that changes small things between each of the images.

3. Build a simple python script which takes the two images from the folder, and outputs the differences between them as a new image.

You can do this by using one of the logic functions from the quick reference (on blackboard) or any other source you like.

You’ll need to save the output to an image file, or take a screen shot of the output* Try to find a method that shows the differences well – it’s possible to use several approaches including logic functions and background subtraction techniques.
