The website needs to be upgraded together with this extension from 1.5 to 2.5 to joomla 3. I don't think it will work when you extract the content from the 1.5 and transfer it to the joomla 3, and migrate the extensions later. The issue is that all the custom seo links must stay the same and it does not lead to broken links or 404 errors after the upgrade.

I was working with Anything Digital (creators of sh404sef) and found that the Scriptegrator plugin conflicts with sh404sef on Joomla 3​. The script plugin causes the SEO management part of sh404sef to break, ie. meta titles, meta descriptions, removal of Joomla generator. If you turn off the scriptegrator plugin, sh404sef works fine again.​ I tested turning off all other plugins just to make sure and no other ones have issue with sh404sef.​ Plugin: Scriptegrator plugin is required for a Core Design Accordion plugin.
