FLYER DEDISGNS

The program will calculate an average price for an item using data from completed EBay acuctions. As input the program will be given a list of UPC's and a price range in which to do in the calculation. For each UPC the program will average the cost of all completed EBay auctions that fall into the price and date range specified. As output, the program will generate a file with the following output format: UPC average price. After each UPC, averge price pair there will be a carriage return. A central aspect of this program is the parsing engine that pulls the data from EBays pages, since the format of the data is likely to change. The parsing engine should be relatively modular and easy to update. Working bids of good quality will be considered first when the time for updates presents itself.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

This program will be run in a Linux environment and therefore should be able to run on Linux. The programming language used can be selected by the coder. However, bids that use Java or Perl will be prefered. If Java is the selected language, the targed JDK is version 1.3.1
