Extract text from [login to view URL] (External VB6 APP)

Need to extract the text from a [login to view URL] (External VB6 APP - do not have access to the source code).

The text in the label changes as the user "drives" backwards or forwards (shows location in kilometers, e.g. 3.176)

As I understand the [login to view URL] has no handle (i.e. no hwnd) and therefore is not visible to Spy++ and therefore can not extract the text inside the label.

The code to do this task SHOULD NOT make use of OCR's or taking a screen shot and extracting text from that but rather should quickly get the text as this task will need to be repeated many times (perhaps twice per second).

The code should be compiled with G++ (MingW).

Another possible solution would be to provide access to a tool that can change the control from [login to view URL] to ThunderRT6TextBox and recompile the VB6 app (hopefully it will still work).
