Roboticians cover a very broad spectrum that incorporates many fields, so does my educational background and professional experience. After holding Bachelor's in electrical engineer in robotics and control engineering I've acquired a double masters degree from the EMARO+ programme in advanced robotics, studying at UNIGE in Italy and ECN in France. I thrive in multi-national and cultural environments and being fluent in several languages helps. The EMARO+ experience was extraordinary with plethora of topics ranging from artificial intelligence, platooning, advanced visual geometry to mobile robots and real time operating systems.
One of my more prominent projects was the sensor pack showcased at Airbus Innovation Day during my days at IRT Jules Verne in Nantes as research engineer: An obstacle detection system based on RGB-D cameras running on ROS with state of the art human detection framework SPENCER and relative to the ground floor negative and positive obstacle detection using PCL and in house development. Sensor fusion took place in a robust nodelet package, along with hardware representation of states via a Raspberry Pi.
Over the years I acquired extensive experience in GNU/Linux, but also with broad variety of hardware (embedded, microcontrollers, PLC) and software, including popular and FOSS suites and frameworks, such as OpenCV, while prototyping and building hardware and software solutions, such as design and soldering custom projects with ATiny and ATMega microcontrollers using both ISP and JTAG programmers. I'm also familiar with NVidia's Jetson series and Raspberry Pi industrial modules.
My main programming languages are C++ and Python, for scripting Bash, Lua. Computer vision, in particular image processing and perception, are another strong suit of mine. I'm focusing on software development to cover more professional techniques and methodologies, such as TDD, that deal with the full life cycle of software to ensure in the long term high quality products. DevOps has been my latest focal point of attention, which adds to former continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) experience and allows with Docker to run, package and publish my software for variety of distributions via repositories supporting Git.
Currently looking for open positions in research and industry, predominantly in the field of robotics, automotive and space.
