Pölsa’s sausages only contain 55% pork meat. The company is notified by the French regulatory authorities that its product does not comply with the French definition of sausages and thus will have to be relabelled as “industrialised meat paste”. This is because “French consumers ought to be given the correct information as to the true nature of the foodstuffs they eat”. b) The Hungarian authorities claim that Pölsa’s sausages contain traces of a prohibited chemical and have banned its importation completely. c) Germany is insisting that all meat must be sold through government controlled wholesalers, due to concerns about the origin of the meat Apply the law on the Free Movement of Goods to the above scenario.
