I mean to find a DOS app project in 2017 it's something that you don't usually expect :) Anyway, I'd like to know more details about the project. As far as I understood your issue is an inability to work with drive letters except 'A'. I haven't seen the source code yet, but it could be pretty straightforward to change 'A'-letter drive to something else ( as the first attempt it could be hardcoded letter, or more flexible - config file, or interactive menu, or app's command line argument). Anyway, could you provide the source code? At least partially ( if you can provide the specific part which is responsible to save to the 'C'-drive now it would be perfect ). I haven't been programming for DOS may be for 20 years already, but I would really like to have! (Watcom C compiler, Turbo Assembler, int21h, oh.. sweet memories :)) P.S.: I forgot to ask. Currently the program is running under vanilla DOS? Or under an emulator like DOSBox ?

I had been writing c (and c++) code since1995. My role as a s/w engineer in a large multinational corp instilled a rigor of writing code that was clear, well documented and could be understood and supported by other engineers later on. This rigor continues to this day and I am very confident that i will be able to meet the requirements for the project. As far as my 4 moths of freelance career is concerned, I have been able to net 3 assignments so far. Of these three assignments, 2 are from the same employer/person. As I understand it, the initial project would be to change the target for the backup/recovery data from a floppy drive to a USB drive. is there any reason why the modification in 2011 did not include changing the backup methodology ?
