Hi, the issue you are facing can be caused for a lot of issues, but the common ones (specially for digital ocean) are the following ones: (I don't know if you have shared hosting or dedicated) 1. Digital Ocean, as very restrictive hosting, doesn't allow you to have more than 50 connections at same time, what does this means? that even 1 simple user can start around 10 connections (concurrent ones). 2. Digital Ocen uses separate MYSQL servers from the current files server (I don't know if this is in purpose for security issues) so the lag between the localhost and the mysql host is very long. If your website has a lot of traffic, I would recommend you to migrate the site to a different provider, like hostgator or resellerclub. But if you want something better, a VPS or a Cloud Based one, since you have control on the server and scalable. I had this issue before and migrated to amazon web services. 15,000 concurrent connections for a newspaper. I can show you if you want. Regards!

This issue must be due to lot of data in your database and incorrect un-optmized sql query calls. We have to check your script and identify where this un optmized queries and fixed it Thanks

Seems like your database don't have enough resources, provide more information about your server and how much users you have.
