I can create a robust multi-platform GUI program that would satisfy your needs. It would be able to perform a one-time indexing of the existing documents, and allow you to search the documents by filename, contents, creation date, size, or any other parameters you require. The index could be stored on dropbox alongside the documents themselves, allowing any number of users to access with their copy of the management program, while keeping all the information in sync. The program will be done in python3 using Qt bindings for the user interface. I will provide the source code and, optionally, binary executables for windows.
