May I know the application you are running on your site which will help to make a proper plan for restoring your site. Either you need to upload the backup file under your hosting provider account Or directly give access to me. If it's wordpress site then the plan will be easier. Hi, I have a reasonable amount of experience with this, so I think I can help. Are your websites using some kind of standard package like Wordpress/Joomla/Drupal or any databases? If yes, does your backup file include the database export as well? Based on your description it seems that the problem is in some of the scripts used by the websites, so changing your hosting provider most likely won't make it any more secure. I'd suggest that you upgrade the websites to make sure no known vulnerabilities exist. I'd suggest the following plan of action: 1) You upload the backup file to the hosting provider server. 2) I will download it and scan it for viruses/worms on my computer. We will agree what to do if anything is found. 3) I will restore the websites from the backup and make sure they work. 4) You will test them to make sure you are happy with the result. 5) Depending on what package is used I may be able to suggest what to upgrade/patch in order to fix the vulnerability. 6) If you are happy with my work we can setup another project to perform the upgrade. Hi, This bid is for the restoration of your sites only, security scanning of any of your scripts is not included in this price. Can you let me know which host you were using and are now using (or simply whether the old/new host is using cPanel/Plesk or some other control panel), cpanel to cpanel transfers are quite painless, other systems can take a little longer but will still be no problem. For a 3.3gb file depending on your upload speeds I would be happy for you to upload the file to my companies servers and I would then be able to transfer the files to their required new locations via our high speed links. Even so I would allow 24 hours for this project as it may take you some time to upload the file and alert me that it is available for me to begin work. Hello dcmi, I have been working on various types of servers, lately mostly corporate and running on linux, for more than a decade. Given the details you have posted I can only roughly deduce server details, but in cases like this, I would initially usually ask for server and DNS access to make sure everything is in order, then have you upload the backup before final cleanup configuration. Will also need to know if the sites use databases, and CMS versions used, if applicable, to find the best approach in cleaning up the backups. Please do send me a message if interested.
