The owners of an online maritime directory are looking for a Freelance consultant(s) to launch a telemarketing campaign. Background: There are similar online maritime directories but the “Trip Advisor” business model for this segment is unique. The directory is now ready to be taken to the next stage – i.e. generate revenue by means of advertising. The directory currently contains about 18,000 listings with a truly global reach. Views and visitors to the website are ship-owners and charterers looking for the best maritime service providers and suppliers available (best reviews etc). The visitor stats have seen significant growth since launch of the website. Target customers for selling Ads are: Sponsors to events and conferences, bunkering companies, ship agents, logistics, port authorities, ship shandlers, software providers, maritime solicitors etc. As it is hard to predict initial price sensitivity, preferences and willingness to pay for Ads suggesting that pricing may have to be adjusted along the way based on feedback from potential customers. Customer Leads: Leads can be found within the directory itself - ie phone numbers and websites addresses as well as on a variety of industry websites (such as maritime news, ports, conferences, events etc). Key Responsibilities: - Identify and contact (cold calling) potential clients within the shipping industry to introduce our advertisement opportunities. - Deliver engaging sales pitches to convince prospects of the value and benefits of our online advertising spaces. - Handle client inquiries, providing comprehensive information to address any concerns. - Maintain thorough records of all telemarketing activities, including client feedback and interests. Ideal Skills and Experience: - Proven experience in telemarketing or sales, with a strong track record of hitting or exceeding targets. - Familiarity with the shipping industry, especially knowledge regarding maritime service providers and suppliers. - Excellent communication skills, capable of conducting persuasive conversations in English. - Ability to research and identify potential clients in the global shipping market. - Resilience and persistence in reaching decision-makers in a challenging and specialized industry. - Multilingual abilities would be a significant advantage to engage with a diverse, global clientele.
