C++ Bitcoin Public/Private key generator

I would like to be able to generate Bitcoin public and private keys in a c++ project that compiles on Mac and or Linux. I want it to use as few external dependancies as possible but any that are required are fine. I don’t want to use all of the code in Bitcoin core just what is needed to generate keys. I have a project started using some of the core Bitcoin code but get a seg fault when generating the keys from a secp256k1 library function call.
