I worked as an Industrial Designer in London for the past 9 years, in a number of the top design studios. Working at Conran and Partners on homeware products for a number of projects will be useful and relevant experience.
I am currently working remotely from Japan for inspiration, and because it's a great city to live in.
Lunch boxes are a big deal here, so I hope to share some valuable insights in my first research document.
First doc. - - - Observations and Insights. (3 days)
Covering the market research requested, visiting department stores with whole lunchbox sections found in Tokyo, and desk research of online offer. Trends in the use of colour, materials, finishes, forms and build techniques. Sketch ideation, forming initial broad areas of opportunity.
* 48 hr window to provide feedback to help define the direction of the 3 concept designs.
(If this time passes without feedback, then I shall continue to develop the three design directions myself, to remain on schedule)
Second doc. - - - 3 concept designs. (4 days)
Sketch CAD models to produce rendered designs, showing initial thoughts on form, build and CMF (colour, material, finish). Support sketches to show possible variants if developed.
* 48 hr for feedback and choosing design.
Third doc. - - - Final Design.
Product visuals of final developed design with dimensions and explanations of any important features to note.
