Born in Taiwan, I have attended an all-Japanese private school through my elementary school years. After coming to Vancouver at 10, I continued learning Japanese, and passed JLPT Level 1 at the age of 14. In first year university, I was recommended to a 4th-year Japanese class analyzing Japanese newspapers. In my senior years, I participated in the Canada-Japan Co-op Program, and was one of 43 students from various Canadian post-secondary institutions to go to Japan for a one-year internship. I landed a placement at Kao Corporation, where I conducted biological research. There, I communicated, gave presentation, and wrote report in Japanese. In summary, due to my unique background of learning multiple languages early in my life, I speak very fluent Japanese and English, with no non-native accents.
