User authentication module for Java web start application

I am looking for a Java developer who has previously written this code and can simply provide modified sources. I need to write a login window for Java applet, the login window will perform user authentication and if completed correctly then download the main applet and launch it. The application is structured in the following way - there is a Java applet that is launched through the web start, the server has LAMP installation and keeps list of user names and passwords (MD5) in the table "users".
