C++ project setup consultation

I want some (a lot of) handholding whilst I get a SourceForge project called Minsky , compiling on my iMac. Although I have loads of development experience it has mostly been C# and javascript. I have coded C++ in the distant past but I am way out of touch with modern C++ development environments and tools. All those make files and compiler and linker settings and commands terrify me. Although I now work on a mac I have only developed on one using C# and I actually know very little about UNIX or mac architecture. Given enough time I could, no doubt, get the whole thing working under my own steam but I don't have time so I want to buy a short cut. I need someone who has experience developing software using the technologies listed in the Minsky project above plus experience developing on a mac who can :- a) work with me over Skype to get the project installed on my iMac so that it compiles and so I can debug it. b) explain to me, over Skype, the structure of the project and how each dependancy technology contributes. You don't have to analyse the existing project code. c) teach me how to interact with the open source project. For someone with right experience I am hoping this should be very little work. I am a fairly quick study and am well motivated. In order to hire someone I need to be happy they are completely confident with all the technologies involved so please look at the project and let me know which bits you do and don't have experience with. It is my impression that the project can be built and run using completely free/open source tools but if necessary I might be willing to buy some components.
