You will work together for everything but the actual writing of the report. You'll share research findings, discuss what content to have, choose images and videos, help each other with what to calculate. You can put together a presentation together. • The writing of the report will be individual. We expect the content to be the same between members of a group, just written in a different set of words, or maybe formatted differently. Plagiarism is when written large slabs of text are identical across reports, or identical to web sources. • In this way the reports and group work is similar to Physics lab and its reports. 3. Task Description Aided by class discussion and your teacher, you will choose a topic for your mechanical engineering project and work on it as a member of a group. It can be about a machine or a subsystem of a machine. See the end of this document for examples. The chosen topic must include static and dynamic elements (outlined in Table 1) that you need to research and present in your report. You will be working on the project topic as part of a group. The group members are free to divide the research topics in the project between themselves. However, the group members need to discuss the research results, and combine and present the findings in a coherent way. Each member of the group will be asked to present his/her research results sequentially, with one ~3 min presentation each. You must use the raw information gathered by your group to (separately) write your own report. Therefore, the report must be written up individually with your own words and report structure. You can discuss and compare results with your group members. The calculation element of the project should be outlined in the presentation and performed individually by each member of the group. Itisexpectedthateachmembershouldcontributeequallytotheresearchproject. Inthe appendix of your report describe the contribution you made to the research work of the project in detail.
