Customize a Magento extension

Hi I have developed on customizing few of the mage extensions. Here in this case what i understood is that you want a dropdown just before the dropdown of category in Home / Link Exchange / Submit Your Link This dropdown of state can be populated from "Directory Country Region" table which is a standard table of magento. we need to map this new state field in the table of link exchange extension with a new column. I have customized manage manufacturer extension of mage for my client www.urbanddazzle.com. It has an extension which generates custom links and pages for any dropdown attribute. I have also developed an extension which connects magento and moodle. You can see it on [login to view URL] .
